פורום חובבי הקקטוסים והסקולנטים בישראל
פורום חובבי הקקטוסים והסקולנטים בישראל החל לפעול במהלך שנות השישים.
בתחילת דרכו היתה זו קבוצת עולים קטנה מגרמניה אשר הביאה עמה את תחביבה.
בדור המייסדים היו יהודה גלעדי, סטפני לנדסברגר, אלכס יעקובוביץ, יוכבד חפץ ואחרים
הגרעין הראשוני מנה כשלושים חובבי קקטוסים וסקולנטים אשר קיימו מפגשים ופעילויות
מספר פעמים בשנה. במשך השנים עלה מספר החברים ובתחילת שנות השבעים
הוקמה אגודה באופן רשמי.
היום יש בפורום כ 150 -200 חברים רשומים. חלק מן החברים מגדל מספר קקטוסים על אדן החלון שבביתם בעוד שלאחרים יש אוספים בני מאות ואלפי קקטוסים.
הפורום מנוהל באמצעות ועד ויושב ראש הנבחרים אחת לשנתיים בידי האסיפה הכללית של החברים.
פעילות הועד, הפורום ותקציבו מבוקרים בידי חברי ועדת ביקורת וכספים
מטרות הפורום
הפורום רואה את מטרתו העיקרית ביצירת מסגרת פעילה לכל אוהבי וחובבי הקקטוסים והסקולנטים בישראל.
הפורום יוזם מפגשים, טיולים, ומפיק תכנים מתוך מטרה להעשיר את חברי הפורום ברוח, בידע ובאוסף ולצור קשרים בין חברי הפורום לבין מוסדות אקדמאיים, אספנים ואגודות בישראל ומחוצה לה ובין החברים עצמם
The Cactus and Succulent Society of Israel
T
he Israeli Cactus and Succulent society started out during the 60's as a small group of immigrants from Germany who brought their hobby of growing cacti and succulent with them from their homeland. It's founders included Yehuda Giladi, Stephanie Landsberger, Alex Yacobovitch and Yochevet Hefetz among others. The group consisted of 30 members and held meetings and activities 3-4 times a year.

he group continued to grow and in 1972 The Israeli Cacti & Succulents Society was officially chartered.

here are 150 members in the society. Some of our members only grow a few plants on a windowsill while others have thousands of plants.

he society is managed by a committee of 5 members who are elected once every two years. The head of the committee is the chairman. The committee is supervised by a board which oversees society activities and money management.
The Aims of the Society

he society aims to bring together all the cactus and succulent lovers; organize activities that increase knowledge and the number and variety of plants in members' collections; organize activities that lead to increased membership in the Society; and establish contact and communication among its members and with other societies, parks and gardens and academic institutions in Israel and abroad.
